How to play games without buying a board game

Good for the people who found ways to make money off of long-established games that can mostly be played with stuff laying around the house. Here are a few games that you can try, probably without having to lay out cash. Liar's Dice: you need 5 dice per player and a Dixie cup per player. OK, if you don't have 20 or so dice laying around your house, then this game is probably worth its asking price. But then how serious a gamer are you?

The Balderdash producers added a board and other categories to give you more bang for your buck. But the basic game remains unchanged from these basic rules. You just need a good dictionary, some paper and pencils.

American named 2014 Ticket to Ride World Champion!

Kenneth Heilfron won the national championship for the USA, and then went on to best the other competitors to take home the Golden Train Trophy! Ticket To Ride (not Heilfron's game, but a winning game at Dice Tower 2014) Sadly, it seems there was some cheating going on by the original winner, who gave up his title after eagle-eyed online viewers brought evidence of foul play to attention of the officials. King of New York is OUT

For those who didn't make it to GenCon this year and have the chance to pick up an advance copy of King of New York -- which would include all of us too -- now we finally can play it. It's similar to King of Tokyo, with a few different elements of game play. Still sussing it out. Looking forward to much more practice soon! king of new york
