10 board games yet to be exploited by Hollywood
Good for the people who found ways to make money off of long-established games that can mostly be played with stuff laying around the house. Here are a few games that you can try, probably without having to lay out cash.
Liar's Dice: you need 5 dice per player and a Dixie cup per player. OK, if you don't have 20 or so dice laying around your house, then this game is probably worth its asking price. But then how serious a gamer are you?

Dictionary Game or Fictionary, Sure, you can find it at game stores under the name Balderdash. The Balderdash producers added a board and other categories to give you more bang for your buck. But the basic game remains unchanged from these basic rules. You just need a good dictionary, some paper and pencils.
Some on this list are old news to folks who already play board games, but perhaps you'll find a new one. These games are also good for easing your non-game-playing friends into the hobby.

The article's title is The 10 Greatest Board Games You Haven't Played This Year. We could quibble about the "greatest" and "never played", but still a fun list of games, some which we at FlamingoCon have not played yet. We just got a copy of Augustus....
While Werewolf can turn family members against each other and many a friendship has ended over a good game of Settlers of Catan, it's all in good fun. Right?
